Chinese Food Advice - Veggie/Peanuts(!)

Hello,Seeking advice about the ease of finding steamed vegetarian food in south/east China. Do most places offer this option? I've a serious peanut allergy, peanut oil included. I don't want to miss out on seeing China because of this. But I'm not sure... ...full story at Lonely Planet
