My boyfriend and I are want to get to Shanghai overland, and have been looking into the possibilities via Tibet. I believe that it is necessary to organise a 'tour' with a group, and from Lhasa, we will get the new train into Chengdou. We don't mind going... ...full story at Lonely Planet
